Our Story
The Frosty Flounder is a vintage ice cream truck bringing joy to The Crystal Coast NC, with delicious treats and a nostalgic vibe. The Frosty Flounder was founded by me, Karen Dee, a resident of Emerald Isle in Carteret County. Once my husband retired from the USMC, I decided it was time to try something new and open a business. I love ice cream, and always loved the ice cream truck that came through my neighborhood as a child, so I decided it was time to bring that vintage feeling to my home for my child and her friends. I did all the work to the truck to customize it for the business, I even drove it 12.5 hours straight to bring the truck home several states away. This little business is my passion, and I hope it brings you joy when I come through your neighborhood, or you see my sweet little pink truck at your event.

Booking The Frosty Flounder is easy! Follow these simple steps to secure your event date with us.

Start by filling out our interest form with your name, contact information, and event details to get in touch. This is NOT a subscription, we only use your email or phone number to contact you via text or email, to start the booking process.

We will review your request and get back to you promptly with availability and options tailored to your event. If you don’t hear from us in 2 days: CALL US 252-241-7021. We don’t want to miss you!

The consultation: we will discuss your event, times and dates, the menu items you are interested in, customizations, and any special requests to ensure your event is a hit. Next a quote is sent via email, and you have ten days to send a non-refundable retainer to secure your date. Two weeks before your event, the rest of your cost is due. A few days before the event, we will contact you to ensure there are no last minute issues.

On the day of your event, our vintage ice cream truck will arrive, ready to serve delicious treats to your guests and make your event a memorable experience you or your guests wont forget! Please make sure to have a credit card handy, to pay for any additional servings after our serving time. (We suggest assigning this task to a treasured friend or family member!)
